We’re on a mission to empower resilience in rural and remote communities grappling with the adverse effects of a changing climate, deteriorating infrastructure, inequality, and inadequate service delivery.
Through our bespoke programs, we meet each individual community at their point of need to deliver tangible, long-lasting outcomes.

Bushfire relief in Bega Valley Shire
The Black Summer bushfires of 2019-20 devastated homes, outbuildings, infrastructure and wildlife in the Bega Valley Shire communities. Almost 12 months later, many of the local residents were still picking up the pieces and trying to rebuild their lives. In October 2020, Connecting Communities Australia headed down the south coast of NSW to Bega Valley Shire for a two-week bushfire relief program.

Meet our founder
Amid the relentless drought in Western Queensland during 2018, our founder Glenn Price had a deep desire to make a real impact on struggling communities.
Glenn organised bespoke support programs that not only provided practical support but uplifted spirits, receiving an overwhelmingly positive response –and Connecting Communities Australia was born.

We had a very fruitful and fulfilling time with our volunteers. I think they all actually became part of our family… Each were unique and wonderful in their own way with so much to contribute – both work-wise and mental health-wise. Our conversations around the meal table were not only just plain fun, but also very good for us in the fact that the conversation was so easy. We got as much insight into their worlds as they got into ours. Their manner and easy natures are beyond reproach, their friendship, support and caring will never be forgotten and treasured forever.

I hope you all enjoyed the trip and that we were able to provide you with some enjoyment or entertainment! I think when you all first arrived I was a bit overwhelmed at the prospect of keeping 5 people busy. Luckily my husband stepped in – in a previous life he used to be in charge of a stock camp of about 10 people, so he was much more qualified for the task than I. Of course you are all welcome back here anytime. If you’re passing through this way there is always a spot on the lawn to unroll your swag!

As Mayor of the Murweh shire I am absolutely honoured to have these organised volunteers returning to our region to help those in need and boost morale. We were fortunate enough to have this volunteer project in our shire in 2016. During this time these volunteers helped so many farmers, the Historical House and many other community organisations during this period of hardship. Our drought stricken farmers are still talking about the positive impact made by these volunteers during their time in our Shire 2 years ago. With the continuation of the drought and tough times, this kind of help is beneficial for their mental health and wellbeing, and in forming life-lasting relationships which our farmers never forget.

Kind words from our partners
I have had the pleasure of working with Glenn for the past 4 years travelling through regional Queensland and assisting him with visual communication. His trust in me to tell the stories of the struggles graziers have on the driest parts of Australia is a privilege. The passion and determination Glenn has for helping people across our forgotten parts of Australia is admirable. He is a relationship builder, making this experience not just a benefit for the graziers, but a life changing experience for all that have worked with him.

Whilst working for Qantas I had the great pleasure of working with Glenn implementing a skilled volunteering program for our engineers. The program met all the criteria we set out including teamwork and leadership development, providing initiative and problem-solving opportunities and as a result increased staff capability and confidence. The program was professionally managed, there was a strong focus on safe work practices and the results were positive, measurable outcomes. Not only was there a positive change to the outlook of our workforce but also increased brand awareness of Qantas in the region. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending Glenn’s work with Connecting Communities Australia.
