The Connecting Communities Australia team has been connecting skilled volunteers and communities across three continents for over 20 years, with a focus on promoting long term, self sustaining solutions.
WHO WE ARE
Glenn has more than 20 years’ experience connecting skilled volunteers with communities across Africa, Asia and Australia. Programs included the renovation of schools, medical centres and child care centres, the implementation of health and education programs and the installation of solar energy and irrigation systems.
Over the last four years he has worked with farming and indigenous communities across Australia. Initially with Aboriginal mentoring and cultural programs in Sydney and more recently, running skilled volunteering programs in farming communities in Queensland, NSW and South Australia.
David brings exceptional managerial experience to the CCA Board. He founded Hubbed and has been CEO for 8 years. Prior to that he worked for 14 years in various managerial roles at Microsoft. His business background has helped promote CCA’s community work in rural and remote communities to the business sector.
His knowledge and experience as Founder of Hubbed has also helped set the strategy, culture and vision of CCA.
Having David on the Board has ensured a high level of governance is in place at CCA.
Chris is a retired senior executive of Qantas. He is an aeronautical engineer with over 45 years international experience in aviation in senior management roles in 5 countries. He is a past Board Member of the Christchurch Engine Centre, served on the Board of a Youth Hostel in Vancouver and is active with an NGO in Thailand helping underprivileged and stateless children in some of the poorest communities.
Chris believes that we have a responsibility, whether as individuals or as businesses, to safeguard and protect the less fortunate in society with compassion and respect, but also with real and substantive actions.
Michael is an Environmental Engineer who came to Australia from Germany in 1995. After a career in journalism and consumer protection, most recently as the Director for Product Testing at Choice, he's currently embracing the many challenges of being a house-husband. He's a longtime friend of our CEO Glenn. 'I've been following and admiring Glenn's work with the and other organisations for many years. So now that I have a bit more time on my hands, I can finally get involved myself.'
Rob has managed to balance his life as a 747 Captain, run a farm on the mid-north coast of NSW and manage the operations of CCA. Rob has been managing community projects across the world for over 20 years. He has brought this wealth of experience to CCA in the role of Operation’s Manager. Rob personally oversees each CCA project through site visits and managing the volunteer teams.
Senior Program Manager at the RE Ross Trust
Michael has a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of New England (2001).
Michael has worked in financial services and as a business analyst. He has also run a business advisory service in the catering and marine industry.
He headed up a marine industry start up called Yachtworks Pty Ltd.
Michael brings this financial background to CCA in his role as financial officer.
His other interest is sailing having competed in 7 Sydney to Hobart Races and numerous other distance offshore events.
